In view of the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases across the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), and many other state boards have already announced to postpone or cancel examinations.
On April 20, Karnataka Education Minister had informed the SSLC examinations would be conducted as per schedule. However, due to the heavy spike in coronavirus cases, the decision has been withdrawn.
Meanwhile, the Minister announced no physical examinations to be held for students of classes 1 to 9 and comprehensive evaluation criteria will be set for the promotion of the students.
The evaluation process is expected to be concluded by April 30, as per the government instruction. The summer vacation of the schools will begin on May 1.
